How to Make Your Outfits Transition to Fall

Fall arrived last week and today it was 84 degrees in Minneapolis. However, we're expecting thunderstorms in the evening; and the weather is expected to be 56 degrees tomorrow. With temperature swings this deep, it can be hard to decide what to wear. Should I wear summer-like clothes or should I wear fall clothes. Personally, I like to wear my summer-y type clothe as long as I can since summer is so short here. Then, I'll adjust those clothes for cooler weather or air conditioned buildings.

Today on the blog, I'll be showing four outfits. I'll discuss how I'd wear it in warmer weather and how I made them fall appropriate.

Outfit 1

For outfit one, I wore black and white windowpane ankle pants with a white boat-neck t-shirt. I added silver accessories to dress it up a bit. During the summer, I opted for a sandal. However, to make this outfit fall ready, I added a denim blazer and grey mules.

 Outfit 2

I tend to wear jeans year round. I tend to cuff them sightly. During the warmer months, I'd opt for a lightweight t-shirt, sleeveless top, or strapless top. One of my favorite summer shoes is slides. For this look, I'm wearing a sleeveless high-low hem top. It's so cute and fall appropriate. To make the outfit more fall appropriate, I put on a long open cardigan. I switched out my slides for my favorite leopard flats.

Outfits 3&4

For the next two looks, I used our Cali Skirt Set as a base. Cali is great alone. However, there are some features that make it an awesome transitional piece: grey color, lightweight design, and it's sleeveless. For both looks 3&4 I used black heeled, knee high boots and a black hobo-type bag.

For look 3, I styled Cali with our Marlo Cardigan. I used a burgundy hat from my personal collection to add some oomph.

For look 4, I styled Cali with our Mia Animal Print Cardigan. I took a belt from my closet and put it around my waist to make the outfit look more polished.

So, y'all those are some of my suggestions for transitional outfits. What do you do to transition to fall?
